THESE CHRISTMAS WE ARE WRITING A BOOK!!

Because Christmas holidays are soooo long and boring, your teachers do not want you to get bored these days so you will have to write a book!! Here you are some instructions that will help you:

1.- Choose an animal you like.

2.- Do the cover (portada) with the name of the book, the author (written by: ) and the illustrator’s name (illustrated by: )

3- On the first page you can write what group of animals they are , vertebrate (mammals, birds…) or invertebrate (molluscs, worms...) how long their gestation or incubation is, the name of their babies…

4.- On the second page you can write what their bodies are covered of (fur, feathers, scales..) what colours they can be, if they change their skin, if they breath with lungs or with gills,,,,,

5.- On the third page you can write about what they eat (if they are carnivorous, herbivorous….) what kind of food they eat, where they find it, how they hunt it…

6.- On the fourth page you can write about where they live the environment, countries….

7.- On the fifth page you can write how they live, if they usually live alone, in groups, if they awake at night or at day…..

8.- On this page you can write about curious and funny facts about the animal.

 You can add as many pictures as you like and use handwriting or the computer. Here is an example of the cover.

The book can be on paper, digital or a presentation.

In January we will read them or play the presentation to the rest of the class and leave them in the classroom library for everybody to see and read. HAVE FUN!!!!!

1.- HISTORY

Year 0 =Year Jesus Christ was born.

B.C.= Before Christ (Antes de Cristo)

A.D.= Anno Domini(Después de Cristo)

Century= 100 years.


 

3.- PREHISTORY

  • People lived in caves.

  • People made clothes from animal skin.

  • People hunted and fished.

  • People collected wild plants and herbs to eat.

  • They invented writing and that was the end of prehistory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.-ANCIENT  HISTORY

 

GREEKS

  • They called the Iberian Peninsula IBERIA.

  • They invented the Olympic games.

  • They invented coins.

  • They wrote lots of book about science.

  • They made beautiful buildings and sculptures.

  • They called the Iberian Peninsula HISPANIA.

  • They invented a language called Latin.

  • They made roads and aqueducts.

  • They establish the Roman Empire, a very big empire.




5.- MIDDLE AGES

CHRISTIAN KINGDOMS

  • People are: Kings, nobles, soldiers, servants, monks or priests.

  • Most people lived in villages.

  • People built cathedrals and castles.

  • Most people are poor and worked the land.


AL-ANDALUS

  • Christians and Muslims lived together.

  • There were artisans and merchants.

  • There were more towns and cities.

  • People built mosques and palaces.


In 1492 the Christians conquered Granada,the last Muslim Kingdom. This was the end of the Reconquista and the end of the Middle Ages.


6.-THE EARLY MODERN HISTORY


  • Started in 1492 when Columbus discovered America.

  • Other explorers discovered many places.

  • Printing press was invented.  -

  • Shakespeare and Cervantes lived in this period.

  • Golden Age for Spain. It had a big empire and great artists.


In 1789 there was a revolution in France. People decided they didn’t want kings or queens anymore. That was the end of the Early Modern History.





7.- MODERN HISTORY

19th CENTURY

  • Steam trains were invented.

  • Rich people had factories with machines. Poor people worked in the factories

  • Rich children went to school and poor children worked in the factory.

20th CENTURY

  • Ordinary people’s lives were better: Washing machines, cooking, cars, planes...

  • Ordinary people has easy access to doctors and education.

HISTORY IN SAN AGUSTIN

Historia del municipio

La presencia de los pueblos íberos, romanos y visigodos en la zona se puede confirmar por los restos de cerámica, utensilios de metal, cuevas y muestras de arte doméstico y guerrero que los labriegos y constructores han ido encontrando enterrados en la zona. Del período romano se han hallado columnas y un sarcófago de piedra en el Alto de la Iglesia. Fue el pretor romano Cayo Flaminio y sus tropas quienes penetraron en San Agustín.

Llegó la Reconquista y muchos de los habitantes de la comarca fueron reclutados en el año 877, por el rey moro de Córdoba Mohamed I para luchar contra los cristianos. En el año 932, las tropas castellanas atravesaron Somosierra y Guadarrama, expulsando a los árabes. Tras esta campaña, San Agustín quedó en tierra de nadie, entre los dos ejércitos en conflicto.

Los primeros documentos escritos que se conservan son del siglo XIII y revelan que en el 1084, el rey Alfonso VI conquista San Agustín a los moros en su marcha hacia Toledo y manda repoblar la zona con gentes de Castilla.
