HISTORY, RECTANGLES

1.- HISTORY

Year 0 =Year Jesus Christ was born.

B.C.= Before Christ (Antes de Cristo)

A.D.= Anno Domini(Después de Cristo)

Century= 100 years.


 

3.- PREHISTORY

  • People lived in caves.

  • People made clothes from animal skin.

  • People hunted and fished.

  • People collected wild plants and herbs to eat.

  • They invented writing and that was the end of prehistory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.-ANCIENT  HISTORY

 

GREEKS

  • They called the Iberian Peninsula IBERIA.

  • They invented the Olympic games.

  • They invented coins.

  • They wrote lots of book about science.

  • They made beautiful buildings and sculptures.



THE ROMANS

  • They called the Iberian Peninsula HISPANIA.

  • They invented a language called Latin.

  • They made roads and aqueducts.

  • They establish the Roman Empire, a very big empire.




5.- MIDDLE AGES

CHRISTIAN KINGDOMS

  • People are: Kings, nobles, soldiers, servants, monks or priests.

  • Most people lived in villages.

  • People built cathedrals and castles.

  • Most people are poor and worked the land.


AL-ANDALUS

  • Christians and Muslims lived together.

  • There were artisans and merchants.

  • There were more towns and cities.

  • People built mosques and palaces.


In 1492 the Christians conquered Granada,the last Muslim Kingdom. This was the end of the Reconquista and the end of the Middle Ages.


6.-THE EARLY MODERN HISTORY


  • Started in 1492 when Columbus discovered America.

  • Other explorers discovered many places.

  • Printing press was invented.  -

  • Shakespeare and Cervantes lived in this period.

  • Golden Age for Spain. It had a big empire and great artists.


In 1789 there was a revolution in France. People decided they didn’t want kings or queens anymore. That was the end of the Early Modern History.





7.- MODERN HISTORY

19th CENTURY

  • Steam trains were invented.

  • Rich people had factories with machines. Poor people worked in the factories

  • Rich children went to school and poor children worked in the factory.

20th CENTURY

  • Ordinary people’s lives were better: Washing machines, cooking, cars, planes...

  • Ordinary people has easy access to doctors and education.
